Are the nature treasures all natural?

Accepted Answer

Yes they are! We insist on all natural. In fact, when we were sourcing these treasures, we came across a number of items that have some kind of after market finish on them. We said no to anything that is not 100% what you could find if you were to take a walk or swim in the area of which it is naturally occurring.

Can my child put the nature treasures in their mouth?

Accepted Answer

100% natural doesn't always mean 100% safe for consumption. But, we were sourcing these with small children in mind. We wanted to make sure that if your wee one uses their gift of oral input to fully discover their nature treasures, they would not be harmed by any toxic substance. That being said, these are loose and small parts that could present a choking hazard. Supervision is highly recommended for children under the age of 3. It's best if children don't put the nature treasures in their mouths and learn to play with them in all the other sensory ways.  But, if they make a brief examination of the treasure with their mouth, a little repeated discouragement by the grown-ups present would make everyone feel safer.

Can they get wet?

Mostly, yes. Prolonged exposure to water may drastically change the texture and character of any single item. But water is part of nature so it shouldn't be anything more than a useful experiement for your sensory seeking wonder-child.

Question 4

Can I wash the pouches?

Accepted Answer

Sure. They are 100% cotton so some shrinkage may occur if placed in the dryer. Did your child create a masterpiece on the pouches and you would like to lock in the love? Before you wash it, check out this video on how to colorfast fabrics:

The nature treasure sensory bin box is sturdy corrugated cardboard that can be re-used or recycled.
