At what point do we outgrow sensory play? Do we actually outgrow sensory play? I certainly hope not! Sensory play for some focuses on sports. Others may take making crafts or playing video games. We seek out sensory play in our recreation on so many levels. It can be wildly synthetic or totally wild. While sensory play for toddlers or sensory play for infants needs to be contained to some degree(It should fit into the life or home or yard). as adults, we get to go big. That epic wave. A fast car ride. A rodeo or a football match. Looking back at my childhood I think that when people asked me "what I wanted to be when I grew up?", I had some vague idea that I didn't want to be sensory restrained. I didn't have a job or a focus in mind as being someone when I grew up. I just wanted to go. Wherever that led. Whatever the meant. I recall many times where I was called inside from being outdoors before I felt ready. Being grown up to me meant I could stay out. I could keep exploring. I could travel. I could sensory play to my hearts delight.
